Jason Jason is one of the visionaries behind Breakdown. He sings bass and does vocal percussion, and sometimes he does both at the same time. He hails from Cincinnati, OH and attended Georgia Tech where he got involved with contemporary a cappella as a member of Sympathetic Vibrations. He now lives and works in the Atlanta area.
Gina Gina began singing on stage at the age of seven. Growing up in the Atlanta area, she participated in many choirs, theater productions, and dance performances. In recent years, she’s also tried her hand at arranging and writing music, especially for Breakdown. A soprano, she particularly enjoys performing rock and gospel.
Shane Shane sings alto and arranges for Breakdown. She also is from the Atlanta area, as she is sisters with Gina, and is a founding member of Breakdown. She got her start in a cappella with the all-female group at Georgia Tech, Nothin’ but Treble, but started experimenting with arranging in High School. She graduated from Georgia Tech in May 2007.
Rob Rob is a baritone and vocal percussionist in Breakdown. He loves a cappella music as a form of expression. Before joining Breakdown, Rob sang collegiate a cappella for four years as a member of Tigeroar, an all-male a cappella group at Clemson University.
Steve Steve is Breakdown’s full-time sound engineer. He sang in the Sympathetic Vibrations, an all-male vocal band, in college with Jason, and also performs with a co-ed a cappella group doing bass and drums on a variety of global musical styles. Steve stays in a cappella because of the unlimited color and flexibility of the human voice, and because working with these folks is just plain fun. =)
